CH. 11 Sleep

Instructions

Slow your breathing, take the time to make your space a comfortable one. Breath in a deep breath for four seconds, hold that breath for7 seconds, than exhale while whispering these words for about 8 seconds. Take the time to truly hear the pronunciation from your mouth. The full 8 seconds do not have to be spent saying the word just the attention to what is being said and the counting of how long you exhale before your repeat to the next word. Do this four times then read the last word.

  • Sibilance
  • Tranquility
  • Loquacious
  • Lagniappe
  • Epiphany
  • Plethora
  • Vellichor
  • Aurora
Sleep.

  1. I learned four new words from your blog post :-)

Sibilance = a hissing sound that's created as a result of the letter "s" or other letter combinations. Sibilance is often used as an alliteration device in poetry and literature to evoke an immersive response in the reader.

Loquacious = tending to talk a great deal; talkative.

Lagniappe = something given as a bonus or extra gift.

Vellichor = the feeling evoked by the scent of old books or paper.

Sleep, what a wonderful activity, zzzz.....

  3. Those are some unique words. I had to look up how to pronounce Lagniappe just to make sure I was saying it correctly.

  4. Juan, I think you are a literal literary master. I am ready to sleep now.

  5. The words listed here are some of the most beautiful sounding words in the English language. The combination of meditation with gentle phrasing regulates the heart and eventually slows down your pulse. This one-two punch is just something I developed by thinking of combining Meditation with ASMR. I hope this helps you as much as it helped me.

  6. My good old friend "Patron Tequila" helps me sleep. Just kidding. But I bet it might help if I recite those words while I take a shot of tequila. Meditation and relaxation is part of my routine before I sleep, aside from studying IS-101 all the time. Just kidding again. Cheers to everybody! Hope everyone gets enough sleep each night.

  7. Those are some uncommon words you've used there. I had to look up half of them because I have no idea how to pronounce them or their meaning. I love reading your posts, it always evokes some sort of feeling inside me. This one had me feeling peaceful and calm.

  10. I have heard "Tranquility" every time I play Overwatch one of the characters ultimate moves during the game heals all characters and he says "Experience Tranquility" I can only assume it means a good feeling.

  11. I need to try this, lately I haven't been able to sleep. Tossing and turning all night well at least for an hour.

  12. Those are some unique words. I wonder how fast I will fall asleep if I try it. I'm going to have to memorize them before bedtime. Thank you for the advice. I know it will come in handy for the nights I can't get my brain to shut up.

  13. Honestly, if I were to read this before going to sleep, I would stay up all night just thinking about each and every letter of all the words because of how unique they sound. Then rap some Nicki Minaj because she uses "epiphany" in her verse on one of her breakout songs.

  14. Those are some rather large words that I had no idea how to pronounce, but they definitely helped me relax.
